iTunes 7: First Impressions!

Okay, so it took me less than 15 minutes to download iTunes 7 and purchase a movie (The Brothers Grimm.) The movie is going to take 65 minutes to download. This should get better as time goes on – right now the store is swamped.

First impressions: the movie selections are only OK. Not great. This will hopefully change in the next weeks and months. iTunes 7 seems snappier and more responsive than iTunes 6.5. I like the little blurb that shows how many unread Podcasts I have waiting in the queue.

I also like the new, updated interface. It packs more features in a clean, familiar interface. It will be easier to sort movies and TV shows out from music. iTunes now plays back video better than it did before, which is a relief.

    As a replacement for the former Apple LED Display, the new 27-inch Apple Display includes Thunderbolt technology, which is quickly becoming an industry-leading connection standard. The Display still boasts the same 16:9 aspect ratio, glossy screen and 2560 x 1440 resolution.

    Bonus: the Thunderbolt Display uses a MagSafe connector that will power and charge your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, so there’s no need to use their power cords.

    The Thunderbolt Display perfectly complements the new Mac mini and MacBook Air models as well as the current line of iMacs and MacBook Pros.
