We are now taking pre-orders for OS 10.5, Apple’s next generation operating system. This will be the biggest upgrade ever for OS X, with over 300 innovations. For a limited time we’re offering Leopard for $119.99 – that’s $10 less than we (or Apple) is charging for Tiger.
Leopard is due to ship sometime in October, but Apple has not yet set the final date. When we take your order, we will NOT charge your card until Leopard is actually ready to ship. Also, if Apple pushes Leopard back over a month, we’ll call you to make sure you want to proceed with your order.
Final OS 10.5 system requirements are not set. However, according to Wikipedia, the pre-release documentation states the following system requirements:
– A G4 (800 MHz or faster), G5- or Intel-based Mac – A DVD drive – At least 512 MB RAM – 7 GB of hard disk space – 12 GB if Xcode is also installed7 – The latest Firmware – FireWire Ports
Note that the system requirements are essentially the same as for Tiger, the current Apple OS.
You can pre-order Leopard by clicking here.
In the coming weeks, we’ll discuss what steps you can take to make upgrading as fast, safe, and easy as possible.
