iChat Matte

Apple has pretty much done away with the pretty glossy buttons and interface, but it seems they left out those chat bubbles in iChat. Of course I don’t mind them, but this application will transform those bubbles into more a matte look. The simple application ‘iChat Matte’ changes some of the resource files in the application and gives the chat bubbles a much slicker look.

Personally I really like the look of the matte. I’m not really sure what is so great about it, maybe it looks more professional (although how professional can iChat be…), or that it’s just a nice refresh from those glossy buttons.

You can grab the iChat Matte installer package from Joshua Bryant’s blog. It works with both Tiger and Leopard and also includes an uninstaller should you not like the matte formatting.
