MacBook Air On Demo At Retail Locations!

If you haven’t yet gotten hands-on with the MacBook Air, you can do so now at either of our retail locations.

I first saw the MacBook Air on a Macworld San Francisco Keynote live blog and lusted after it while pouring over tech spec pages and reading early reviews. The blogosphere has been ablaze with further reviews and benchmarks. Even mainstream media outlets have gotten in on the action.

The excitement struck me again when I first spotted our MacBook Air demo machine in Burlington while walking through the door after returning from vacation earlier this week. You’ll be amazed when you touch it. With a maximum thickness of 0.76,” a weight of 3 pounds, a 13.3” smart LED screen, a backlight keyboard, an iSight, and an ultra-large multi-touch trackpad all wrapped in aluminum, this piece of technology is really something to behold. Every element of the MacBook Air is perfected for its target user, even the MagSafe power adapter has been miniaturized.

One of my favorite “features” of the MacBook Air, and one that I predicted (along with the machine itself, although I called it a MacBook nano), is its reduced environmental impact. The volume of the retail packing has been reduced thereby requiring fewer delivery flights from the factory to the retail locations and the packaging itself is engineered from “largely recyclable” materials, the aluminum enclosure of the machine is “highly recyclable,” the LED display is mercury-free and does not use arsenic in the glass, all internal cabling is PVC-free and the machine as a whole meets ENERGY STAR requirements and has received a silver rating from EPEAT.

We can’t wait to welcome you into one of our MacBook Air-equipped retail showroom locations, and don’t forget to ask for some of our small dogs to remember your visit by!
