A very cool offer is under way: Codeweavers is GIVING AWAY their Crossover software until midnight tonight, October 28. The owner vowed to give his software away if gas prices dipped below $2.79 in the Twin Cities area, and lo and behold that has happened. Crossover allows you to run Windows applications without installing Windows, and uses the open-source Wine technology to do so. The idea behind the the “Great American Lame Duck Presidential Challenge” was to help “encourage President Bush to make the most of his remaining days in office by accomplishing a major economic or political goal by January 20, 2009.” If any of the following occur before January 20, 2009, Bush’s last day, we’ll see more free CodeWeavers software:
