Apple Supersedes Microsoft

Well, lookee here… Apple has a new title as largest technology company in the world, surpassing Microsoft.

With the release of the iPhone and most recently, iPad, Apple has challenged more mainstream PCs, overall with great success. Much like the iPod in 2001, these devices have changed the way people look at technology and what it’s capable of.

Apple Inc.‘s shares closed at $244.11 in Wednesday’s market, which translates to a market cap of about $222 billion. Conversely, Microsoft closed at $25.01, which led to a market cap of $219 billion.

Time will tell if Apple can keep its growth going at record-breaking speed! What are your thoughts?
