Mini Ninjas – Review

Mini Ninjas is a fun and fast paced action adventure game that is sure to entertain players of all ages. The charming narrative spins the tale of a ninja and his friends on a quest to thwart the plans of an evil samurai bent on world domination. The game features tight level design, great art direction, and an intricate and well produced soundtrack.

Employing a partially cel-shaded art style, Mini Ninjas is vaguely reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. Players direct protagonist Hiro through a series of lush levels in a variety of settings. Though levels take place in a linear sequence, their expansive nature accommodates a variety of different play styles. Each level concludes with a boss battle, and while challenging, they are never overly difficult.

The game features a range of difficulty settings making it a great fit for both younger players and experienced gamers. There is plenty of gameplay as players learn new skills, acquire new spells, and unlock additional playable characters. Though the action does become occasionally repetitive, there is enough here to keep gamers busy for several hours. As players progress through the story, they can incorporate new moves and items to diversify the play style. During periods of exploration Mini Ninjas has an almost relaxing feel to it. However, any sense of relaxation is quickly exchanged for excitement during the numerous face paced action sequences that occur throughout the storyline.

While this game looks top notch on a higher end Macs, it is compatible under lower settings on a wide range of machines. If you’re looking for a fun, lighthearted adventure, definitely consider giving Mini Ninjas a try. As always, we recommend that you double check your machine’s specs against Mini Ninja’s system requirements before you install.
