Adobe Unveils New Photoshop and Premiere Elements

This morning, Adobe launched new versions of their entry level imaging and video editing software. Though Photoshop Elements has seen several iterations on the Mac, today’s announcement brings Premiere Elements to OS X for the first time. If you are unfamiliar with Adobe’s consumer oriented editing system, it is essentially a slimmed down version of Premiere CS5 in the same way that Photoshop Elements is a lighter version of Photoshop.

Enhancements to PS Elements include the ability to easily match photo styles, unclutter photos with a basic version of CS5’s Content Aware Fill, use Guided Edits to create effects, and many more. A full list of new and enhanced features can be viewed here. Premiere Elements includes a host of new features as well. The new version includes support for a larger number of cameras including Flip and DSLR still cameras. Users will also notice improved HD video editing performance, greater control over audio, and a series of new fun filters and effects. To view more of Premiere’s features click here.

Both titles are currently available on Adobe’s site, but we will hopefully have them in stock soon. Photoshop and Premiere Elements each retail for $99.99, and a combo pack which includes both titles is available for $149.99. A trial of either piece of software can be downloaded directly from Adobe’s site.
