Refurbished 1TB Time Capsules

The Time Capsule is Apple’s all-in-one solution for home networks. In conjunction with Apple’s Time Machine software built into Leopard and Snow Leopard (Over 60% faster on Snow Leopard), your computer can automatically back up to the Time Capsule’s 1TB or 2TB hard drive, with an update occurring hourly.

In fact, unlike other external hard drives, multiple Macs can back up to this same device! This is an enterprise-grade hard drive, and capable of surviving many years of use.

This device also enables you to share USB hard drives and printers to all machines on the network. Just plug in a powered USB hub to support multiple devices!

Configuration is relatively simple, compared to most other router brands. If you own a Mac, you already have the software installed to handle the setup. Just open your AirPort Utility, which is located under Applications > Utilities. This will enable you to access the router, and go through a setup assistant to get you started!

It also features the ability to extend your wireless range using WDS (Wireless Distribution System) and a compatible router. Generally this works best with the AirPort Extreme or Express.

Small Dog currently has a factory refurbished 1TB model at $219.99, with a full 1-year Apple warranty. It cuts $80 off the $299.99 retail.

  • The New MacBook Air is Here!

Last month Apple made a long-overdue update to it’s thinnest and lightest computer–the MacBook Air. Formerly available in only a 13-inch option, there are now both 11- and 13-inch models to choose from.

They both sport flash storage (that’s right folks, no more hard drives!), which was previously an optional configuration. You can now get up to 256GB of solid-state flash storage in the world’s thinnest notebook computer!

Having had a chance to play around with the new 11-inch model we have on demo on the sales floor in South Burlington, I must say the performance of the flash storage makes both application load times and boot times much snappier than any standard, spinning platter hard drive can offer.

These new Macbook Airs are the perfect laptop for those on the go, or for students who want a super light computer to bring to class. Of course, they are a fantastic entry level machine for those new to the Mac platform. Come into the store and check these out for yourself, or take a look at the entire revamped MacBook Air line “here.”:http://www.smalldog.com/category/x/x/x/Apple|MacBook_Air/at_bis
