Hulu Plus Out of Beta, iOS App Updated

An updated version of Hulu’s premium streaming service landed in the App Store this afternoon. Officially bringing the service out of its initial preview phase, the app includes a host of refinements and a lower monthly subscription rate. Evidently responding to user feedback and competing services, the monthly fee has been reduced from $9.99 to $7.99. The company reports that early adopters of the service’s preview build will be credited back for the difference. Though it maintains an ad-supported platform, Hulu Plus’ library of currently airing shows is unmatched on a mobile device. The app, which is universal to iPhone and iPad, gains improved playback performance, better queue and subscription management, and several iPad specific features with the update. The app itself is free, and can be downloaded here. More information on the service including a list of available shows is available here.
