'Tis the Season for Big Savings on Games

Do you have a long flight or car ride ahead of you this holiday? In recent years, iOS devices have emerged as some of the best ways to pass the time during holiday layovers and road trips. Though one can get lost in a good iBook or endlessly cruise FaceBook, playing games is another great way to help the hours go by. This year, several big name developers are slashing prices like crazy on some of the hottest games of the year for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. With EA, Gameloft and Namco on board, iOS gamers are afforded a rare opportunity to score big budget titles for up to 90% off. Supposedely these deals are only good for a few days, so get them while they last! Here are just of a few of the deeply discounted apps:

Namco

Gameloft

EA

The savings don’t stop there though. This year also marks the return of The Humble Indie Bundle for OS X, Linux, and Windows. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept behind the bundle, it is essentially a DRM free and pay what you want collection of indie games. Better yet, all contributions go towards a good cause. Buyers can easily divide their contributions between 3 charities, with an option to contribute to the developers. The lineup of titles this year is absolutely stellar and features SDE favorite ‘Braid’ among 4 other great titles. The retail cost of all 5 games would typically be around $85, but the developers have elected to let users set the price. Not only is this a great way to pickup some awesome indie titles, but also a way to support the less fortunate this holiday season. The titles featured in the bundle this year are:

  • Braid
  • Cortex Command
  • Machinarium
  • Osmos
  • Revenge of the Titans
