As someone who frequently updates our in-house packaging for our three brands, I can now find ® and ™ in my sleep. However, if you find yourself hunting for those or any of the hundreds of other specialty symbols, look no further than the Character Palette (actually now known as just “Characters” in 10.5 and 10.6).
There, you will see a full lists of characters, from punctuation to mathematical symbols to braille patterns. To get to it, just do the following:
- Select Edit > “Special Characters…” from whatever application you’re in (e.g. TextEdit, Safari or Mail) or choose the Character Viewer icon in the upper righthand part of the menu (if you’ve chosen to display the icon there. More on that in a sec.)
Keyboard shortcut: Shift-Command-T - Choose “View: All Characters” from the drop down menu in the window (if it doesn’t automatically display all by default)
Add your most used to the Favorites section, and you’ll be good to go!
