Need an iPad app? Try WritePad.

Without a doubt, the most popular gift this past Christmas season was the iPad. I received one for Christmas and love it so much. I feel like Oprah when I talk about it because I just gush when I tell customers about it. I use it for pretty much everything.

One of the most frequent questions I get is what apps do I purchase now that I have the iPad. This can be a tough question, with so many apps to choose from and so many different functions one barely knows where to start. I recently found an app that I really enjoy and use on almost a daily basis.

WritePad by PhatWare is an amazing handwriting recognition app that allows you to write down notes and have them instantly converted to type print. I’m not that fast at typing—especially when it comes to an iPhone or iPad—and sometimes it’s just easier to write a quick note then to type something out. However, I’m also cursed with terrible handwriting that sometimes even I can’t read.

The WritePad app allows me to jot down notes and then have then transferred to typed writing. I pretty much use it for everything now, from making shopping lists and to-do tasks to personal notes and much more. Even with my poor handwriting, WritePad can distinguish what I write 99% of the time, due to the ability to learn your handwriting (meaning the more you use it, the better it becomes at recognizing what you are writing).

WritePad already comes preloaded with several shortcuts such as Date, Select All, Spell Check etc. All you have to do is simply write a keyword like “date,” circle it and WritePad will insert the date for you. You can also make your own shortcuts. For example, I like to put my name at the end of work documents along with my email and phone number. Now all I have to do is write the word, sign and circle it and my signature appears.

WritePad also allows you to email, print or share your document. WritePad is $9.99 and worth every penny!
