Power On, Power Off, 6G iPod nano 1.1 Software Update

The 6th generation iPod nano is one of the most advanced iPods Apple has made yet. Think 2G shuffle mixed with 1G iPod touch. You don’t get an App Store or internet, but you do get Apple’s amazing multitouch display. So they packed all this amazing technology into a small, clip-able, and light package but forgot one important piece…a power button.

Apple heard your complaints though, and responded yesterday with a 1.1 software update for iPod nano 6G. No longer will you return to your iPod nano and wonder “will it have battery left?” Now the button which we originally thought would turn off the nano, will indeed turn it off. Simply hold the sleep button and the screen will go black, meaning your device has powered off. Press the sleep button again, and it turns back on and you’re back to rocking out.

To update, simply connect your iPod nano 6G to iTunes and click the update tab below the photo of your iPod nano. Enjoy!
