Tomorrow's Media Event

So everyone is on the same page, there is an Apple Media Event tomorrow at about 1pm our time. Around here this is like if the Pope came to town. We all watch as Apple talks about something either new or redone and tells us how it is going to change our lives. I remember reading a live updated blog post from Engadget about the release of the iPad. Speaking of which…

Things of Note:
1. iPad is up for a refresh. Could we see cameras? Could it be faster and better graphics because of a new chipset they are working on?
2. iOS 4.3 was released in beta form last week to developers. Something tells me, we might hear something about this tomorrow.
3. Steve Jobs will not be the presenter tomorrow, due to his medical leave. We will see a mixture of Tim Cook (interim CEO) and other execs from Apple presenting whatever it is they are presenting tomorrow.
4. MobileMe has been high on the speculation front for much of the past month. We might here something about that and what the “data center” is in North Carolina.

Apple will stream the event from it’s website. But if you can’t see that then head over to Engadget to read their live blog about the event (they sit in the audience and type it out and post pictures live). Check back here for a reaction post after the event.

  • Our Alltop Info Center

It can be daunting to try to stay on top of the endless flow of information available online. Among other tools, I use Google Reader, Socialite, and email alerts to stay on top of the topics that interest me. I recently started using “Alltop.com”:http://my.alltop.com/smalldogelectronics to help with this.

Alltop says its purpose is to help you answer the question, “What’s happening?” in “all the topics” that interest you. They do this by collecting the headlines of the latest stories from the best sites and blogs that cover a topic. They then group these collections — “aggregations” — into individual web pages. Then they display the five most recent headlines of the information sources as well as their first paragraph.

We created an Alltop so we could stay on top of the latest Apple news. Many of us make it habit to get to work and fire up our page first thing in the morning. Click here to see our Apple-news themed Alltop page, or to create your own! “Alltop.com”:http://my.alltop.com/smalldogelectronics
