Frosty Peaks Before Morning Melt

I love my drive to work, which takes me over the Appalachian Gap road: State Route 17.

As the seasons progress, the road conditions can vary depending on elevation and time of day. You really never know what you are going to see up there!

Here’s an example of the early morning snowfall on the western peaks, melting slowly in the sunlight as it crests the hill around 9 a.m. last Friday:
