Recently, Daniel Hollister from our Waitsfield retail store installed a Crucial SSD (Solid State Drive) into a late-2006 MacBook. This upgrade made a barely usable machine into a like-new machine!
Though it cannot run anything past OS X 10.7, it is as quick as a new MacBook Air. It starts up and is ready to go in 20 seconds.
Because the SSD has no moving parts, there is no waiting for the disk to spin up and programs load in just a few seconds without any beach balls appearing.
If you have an aging laptop and aren’t quite ready to buy a new one, having an SSD installed might be what you are looking for!
Daniel can’t stop talking about how fast his old MacBook is now that he’s installed this drive — proof that Macs can run well beyond their years!
