It is that time of the year again where I gaze into the crystal ball and make predictions for the coming year. First let’s see how I did on 2023
My 2023 predictions
Apple
- AR glasses for sure this year – well, the announcement but not the delivery
- Major Apple Car developments- Nope
- Apple stock hits a low of $110/share and a high of $177/share. – I missed on the lowend ($133) and on the high end, too ($199)
- Foldable iPad -nope
- One major acquisition – Nope
- One major sport on Apple TV+ – Finally one right MLS!
Sports
- Boston Celtics will defeat the Denver Nuggets for the NBA title- Nope
- Cubs will be in the playoffs- Nope
- Chicago Sky will be WNBA Champs – Nope
Weather
- Vermont will have the warmest winter in 50 years – Yes
- Very active hurricane season with 3 cat 5s – 20 named storms but only 1 cat 5
- Western USA will see record snow pack – got a lot of snow late but no records
- It will be a bad year for wildfires- There were some but not as bad as previous years
Pandemic
- The pandemic will continue to cause disruptions and be the leading cause of death Yes
- China will impose pandemic restrictions again- yes
- A new anti-covid drug will be discovered – no
Space
- Definitely confirmed extraterrestrial life – nope
- An asteroid will make a very close pass of the earth – nope
- Man will return to the moon- Nope
- Space X Starlink system will go down for more that 24 hours- nope
- Space X rescues astronauts from ISS- nope
Politics
- Kevin McCarthy will eventually become Speaker of the House only to be later removed Yes
- More than three additional candidates for President announced- yes
- Third Party formed- sorta no labels
- Former guy indicted- Yes multiple times!
Miscellaneous
- Inflation begins to be reduced- Yes
- Stock market hits all time high- yes
- Harriet Tubman finally on $20 bill- still delayed
- Federal marijuana laws moderated- not yet
- Electric cars hit 25% market share worldwide- close at 19%

- Cubs will be in the playoffs
- Boston Celtics will win the NBA title
- Jason Tatum will be the league MVP
- Record attendance for WNBA
Weather
- Vermont will have record low snowfall
- Very active hurricane season with 4 cat 5s
- Western USA will return to draught conditions
Space
- Definitely confirmed extraterrestrial life
- An asteroid will make a very close pass of the earth
- Man will return to the moon
- James Webb telescope will find an earth-like planet
- Large solar flare will severely impact telecommunications
- Space X Starship will have successful orbital flight
Politics
- Democrats will take control of the House
- Joe Biden will narrowly win the Presidency
- Republicans will take control of Senate
- Former guy is convicted of at least 2 felonies
- Bernie Sanders will not seek re-election
