Need Business Cards? Make Your Own!

Having recently faced the dilemma of trying to market myself as a video professional, I found that I not only need to have a demo reel, but I also need to hand out my contact info. A business card (in any profession) is a great thing to have, but how do you go about finding the right one?

To figure that out, I thought I’d search for one I could download a trial of first, and I came across SOHO Business Cards from Chronos.

It’s a pretty cool application (unlike a couple of others I tried), and it gives you some tools to help you create your own card that really separates your work from everyone else’s. Familiar options like adding shapes, text, and pictures look similar to the inspector window in other applications in OS X. You can make you own text, import images right from your iPhoto library, and create cool little text boxes with different colors.

If you’re looking to create your own business card that really helps you stand out, SOHO Business cards is a great tool to play around with. I have the 30 day trial at the moment, but I’m thinking that $39.99 isn’t too expensive for a marketing solution that I have pretty good control over. If you don’t have OS 10.4 or newer, we also carry the version for $29.99.

Don’t have the that much time to spend? Another application I stumbled upon was Business Card Composer, by BeLight, which comes with hundreds of different templates. Each template is organized into a genre so you can choose one quickly.

Once you pick your template, you’re able to input your personal info (which fits into the text areas seen on the template) on the next page, and then place your order for the prints. Then you just wait for them to arrive; it’s literally three steps! Business Card Composer also retails for $39.99.

Hope that helps with your business card needs. Thanks for reading and good luck.
