Macworld Survey Results

The following are the results of our 2008 Macworld survey. Participants included Tech Tails subscribers, Kibbles and Bytes subscribers, Small Dog blog readers, and Small Dog employees. We used the “black turtleneck” rating scale, in honor of Steve Jobs famous perpetual keynote outfit. Actually, it seems that Steve Jobs always wears his trusty black turtleneck and Levi jeans. Kali and I have been joking about all the free publicity Steve Jobs and Apple would receive if he mixed it up and wore a white turtleneck at the Macworld Keynote next year. Apple-watchers would endlessly debate its meaning. Survey says:

1. How would you rate this year’s Macworld?

  • 53.1% say “3 black turtlenecks – An average year. Still beats Microsoftworld.”
  • 34.7% say “4 black turtlenecks – A good memorable Macworld.”

2. How would you rate the MacBook Air?

  • 46.4% “say three black turtlenecks. Awesome engineering, fills a niche. Not sure if it’s for me.”
  • 30.9% say “4 black turtlenecks – “Wow! Apple does it again! I want one – in the future.”

3. How would you rate Time Capsule?

  • 43.3% say “4 black turtlenecks – Excellent idea! But I already own plenty of base stations and hard drives. Still, there may be room for more.”
