Hello fans of free software,

As you may or may not know, there is a software title shared among the world of software developers that mimics Microsoft’s Office suite of software titles.

This software is known as OpenOffice (due to the “open” source code policy that the many developers have stuck to) and a new version, 2.4 is now released for your free downloading pleasure.

Here is a link to the release notes.

Searching through the OpenOffice.org website, one can even find application extensions that enhance the software to suit your needs.

Some of the top extensions you can download and add to OpenOffice are:

-Professional Template Pack
-eFax
-OxygenOffice Extras – Gallery
-Writer’s Tools
-Sun Report Builder
-OpenOffice.org2GoogleDocs

If you’ve ever wondered if you could use a Mac without ANY Microsoft applications on your computer; you CAN, with OpenOffice 2.4 for Mac!
