.Mac, MobileMe… Not Yet Ready for Prime Time?

Apple officially released MobileMe, iPhone 3G and the iTunes Apps Store today, but users are experiencing some trouble accessing Apple’s website.

.Mac has been killed to make way for MobileMe, so the URL www.mac.com greets you with the following message:

Similarly, its replacement, www.me.com, gives you the following message:

Apple’s servers are undoubtedly getting hammered today, so access to the iTunes Apps store and iPhone pages have been slow. The $9.99* update, released for the iPod touch, is listed as available, but the server is down at the moment.

*Good news for people like me who never paid the $19.99 for the last update–this bypasses that and brings older iPod touches up to date! 😀
