  • Sudoku Winner!

    A big thank you to everyone who entered our contest with their completed Sudoku puzzle from last week! It was a lot of fun to see all the answers, and an overwhelming number of you got the phrase correct.

    So what was the correct answer, you ask? Well, that’s an interesting one–we initially had just one correct unscrambled phrase, but soon realized that there were actually TWO solutions to the puzzle. To wit:

    *Important Event:* Saturday, February 7 was Don’s 60th birthday!

    *Correct Answers:*
    MAYER IS 60
    I’M 60 YEARS

    Since we didn’t say that you __couldn’t__ use an apostrophe (oooh, that would have been evil), we entered all of you who had either answer correct into the contest drawing.

  • _Dear Friends,_

    It’s Kali writing for Don this week, who is on week #2 of his African Safari. Things are (literally) quiet in the office here, because Ed is also on a vacation of sorts, along with three dogs. Ed is holding down the fort at Don’s house, so hopefully he is also getting in some nice relaxation time as well as some quality time on the slopes.

    There is a lot going on here, though! Last week, our Sudoku challenge gave the clue of “Important Event” and out of all of our entries, we have picked a winner! Read more about that below. Today is also Friday the 13th, and per tradition, we have a “phobia” theme. I polled our Small Doggers and had them submit their biggest fears for all to see (thankfully, public humiliation on a national scale wasn’t one of them…).

    In product-related news, we’re featuring specials on Apple software, which includes instant rebates on Final Cut Studio (save $200!), AppleCare and iLife, and rebates on iWork and MobileMe. For a limited time, we also have refurbished and used MacBooks between $729.99 – $929.99, new MacBooks from $949.99 and more previous-generation Apple products on the way (more on that next week).     Valentine’s Day seems to conjure up very strong emotions–you either love it or hate it. Either way, you’ll need a soundtrack.

    *How to Make Your Own iMix*

    An iMix is a playlist from your iTunes library that is published for all to view and purchase through the iTunes Store. To make your own, follow these steps:

    * Create a playlist of your favorite songs in iTunes
    * Click “Store” from the Menu Bar and select “Create an iMix”
    * Name the playlist, provide a description and select Publish

    Apple will notify you when your iMix has been published!
