Vermont Sales Tax Holiday / Small Dog Mention

Vermont’s biggest newspaper, the Burlington Free Press ran an article about last weekend’s sales tax holiday in Vermont. It included a nice profile of the event at Small Dog Electronics. Our South Burlington store was open for 24 hours; it’s fun to read about Small Dog’s CEO Don Mayer shuffling about in the very early morning with a cup of coffee. About the tax holiday, Don said:

“On the face of it, yes: the state is losing a significant source of revenue,” Mayer said. “But I would contend that retailers are gaining customers that might ordinarily go online — and might not be so ready to do so in the future.”
