New Product Review: JBL Duet II Speakers

For an avid music fan, nothing beats a good set of speakers to enjoy your tunes on. These days it’s easier than ever to get high quality sound out of a compact size set of speakers, and the new Duet II system by JBL is no exception.

Sporting a stylish, slim profile and almost minimalist appearance, these are the perfect speakers for a desktop setup where space is limited. You can plug these into your computer, iPod, or any other device that has a 3.5mm size (standard) headphone jack.

Having tested them out in the store, they sound great and are definitely best suited for acoustic, classical, or quieter listening. The midrange and highs on these speakers sound excellent, however those looking for huge low-end will be disappointed as there isn’t a whole lot of bass, as to be expected with a smaller speaker driver and no subwoofer.

According to JBL’s specifications this system outputs 12 watts total (6W to each speaker), making it plenty loud enough to crank up in a smaller room without getting the sound breakup and distortion that can happen at higher volume levels with other speakers.

Priced at $99.99, these are a good mid-price solution for those seeking crystal clear sound in a compact package. Come into the store and give these a test-drive with your own tunes!!
