A major vulnerability in Flash Player 10.0.45.2, which allowed hackers to take over machines remotely, has thankfully been patched by Adobe. With the release of Flash 10.1 for OS X, Windows, and Linux, this critical flaw has been remedied, and Adobe is encouraging all users to upgrade. They are currently working on a patch for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat which are also susceptible to the same exploit. Updates for both of these programs are expected to rollout by the end of the month. For users not able to upgrade to flash 10.1, Adobe has released an upgraded version of Flash 9 here. Users of Acrobat 8 and Reader 8 are unaffected by this vulnerability.
