The Mythical White iPhone 4 Delayed Again

Contrary to the announcement made at last week’s iPhone 4 press conference, the white version of the iPhone 4 will not be available at the end of the month. This morning, Apple issued a concise two sentence statement outlining further delays in the manufacturing process. The report states that due to manufacturing challenges the phone will not be available until “later this year.” The statement fails to mention the specific hang up (pun intended) the phone is experiencing. Some sources claim that the factory handling the glass production is unable to match the pristine glacial white Apple has selected for the phone.

Regardless of the exact cause for the delays, it is unlikely that the white iPhone 4 will be making an appearance this summer. Apple states that the availability of the “more popular” iPhone 4 black model is not effected by this delay. The statement in its entirety can be viewed on Apple’s PR site here
