Last month Apple made a long-overdue update to it’s thinnest and lightest computer—the MacBook Air. Formerly available in only a 13-inch option, there are now both 11- and 13-inch models to choose from.
They both sport flash storage (that’s right folks, no more hard drives!), which was previously an optional configuration. You can now get up to 256GB of solid-state flash storage in the world’s thinnest notebook computer!
Having had a chance to play around with the new 11-inch model we have on demo on the sales floor in South Burlington, I must say the performance of the flash storage makes both application load times and boot times much snappier than any standard, spinning platter hard drive can offer.
These new Macbook Airs are the perfect laptop for those on the go, or for students who want a super light computer to bring to class. Of course, they are a fantastic entry level machine for those new to the Mac platform.
