iPad 2 Launching in 25 Countries Friday

Apple today released a press statement confirming that iPad 2 will launch in 25 additional countries this coming Friday. Beginning at 5 PM local time—mirroring the US launch strategy—iPad 2 will be available online, at Apple retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. As Apple has been struggling to meet the unyielding demand for the device in the US, it is probable that initial availability will be constrained in the additional launch countries. Acknowledging the post-PC device’s runaway success and quantity constraints, Steve Jobs commented:

We’re experiencing amazing demand for iPad 2 in the US, and customers around the world have told us they can’t wait to get their hands on it. We appreciate everyone’s patience and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.

Starting Friday the 25th, iPad 2 will be available in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. Apple has also announced iPad 2 will be available in Hong Kong and Singapore in April, and additional countries later this year.
