Mac Pros Get Speed Bumps

Quietly and away from the stage at WWDC, the Mac Pro line was updated with faster processor speeds and more memory in its base configuration.

The Quad-Core which will sell for $2500 has one 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor and 6GB of RAM by using three 2GB memory chips. The 12-Core Mac Pro has two 2.4GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon processors and 12GB of RAM using six 2GB chips. This configuration will sell for $3800.

Perhaps Apple was quiet about this speed bump since the Mac Pro line is still without Thunderbolt. At least they remembered that they have a Pro line. 😉
