VLC Media Player Updated

A media player that I’ve written about almost since the day I started working at Small Dog got a nice update this week. VLC plays just about every video type you can think of. You can even setup a server and stream video content to other users which is really cool.

The update adds better support for the Windows Media 9 codec, flash and better decoding support for h.264. You can also use your Apple Remote if you have one and are an OS X user. VLC is now also offered as a Universal Binary.

One thing I also like about VLC is the fact that it’s open source and it works on so many different operating systems. It works on Linux, Windows and OS X to name a few. It’s very easy to use!
