Dear Friends,
We have gone from temps that dipped into the 30’s and enough snow on the slopes that some ski areas re-opened for free skiing to hot and muggy weather. Typical Vermont spring weather; if you don’t like it, wait a minute. My garden survived the cold weather and the rain.
Apple announced that they have sold over 100 million iPod touch (micro iPads) units and marked the occasion by introducing a 16GB 5th generation iPod touch at $229. This is the same as the larger capacity iPod touch 5th generation units, but only comes in the black and silver models and lacks the rear camera. With increased use of iCloud for storing music, many will find the the 16GB is a great value and brings the iPod touch to a wider range of customers.
Sales of most iPods have slowed due primarily to the fact that more and more people are using their iPhone or iPad for music devices. While this is true, the iPod touch continues to be a strong seller as the smallest and most affordable iOS device. I think the iPod touch will be around for awhile; 100 million is huge!
We are launching the new financing program through GE Money tomorrow in our retail stores. If you are buying a Mac or an iPad, this might be a great way to defer payment. There is no interest for 6, 12 or 18 months depending upon the value of your invoice. As long as there is a Mac or iPad on the invoice you can also defer any accessories or services, too. It is really a deferred payment program as the no interest provision only applies if you pay off the balance at the end of the deferral period. We will have complete information and applications in each of our retail stores and on Smalldog.com/retail.
Now, on to the Famous Garage Sale!
