iTunes 7.1 Released – Full-screen Cover Flow!

Apple has released iTunes 7.1 for Mac and PC. Beyond stability improvements and bug-fixes, this new version of iTunes supports streaming of iTunes content to Apple TV. You’ll need iTunes 7.1 to use Apple TV.

A really cool feature of iTunes 7.1: full screen Cover Flow! Cover Flow also seems to runs smoother and faster on older Macs.

If you use a Mac mini or other Mac connected to a TV as a media server, you’ll find that full-screen Cover Flow is an excellent way to browse movies and TV shows stored in iTunes.

Also, iTunes 7.1. sports some new and slightly improved sorting options.

iTunes 7.1 does address some compatibility issues with Windows Vista. Apple recommends iTunes 7.1 for use with most editions of Windows Vista, but Apple also acknowledges a few remaining known issues. Apple says it’s actively working with Microsoft to resolve the issues.

If you are upgrading to Windows Vista or have purchased a new computer with Windows Vista pre-installed, here is some information from Apple that you may find helpful:
