Way back when Automator came out I played around with it but never made anything useful.

A lot of the times I want to attach a file to an email I usually right click on the file assuming there an Attach To Email option. I think Windows has an option like that and Windows hasn’t fully worn off me yet! 🙁

So I decided to see if it would be possible to make an Automator plugin that would let me select files and then right click and hit ‘Send to Mail as an Attachment’.

Automator is super easy to use and within 2 minutes I had created a ‘plugin’ that let me select files in a Finder window and then I could click on ‘Send to Mail as an Attachment’! The workflow consists of only 2 actions!

I’ve included the workflow which you may click here to download. You’ll need OS X 10.4 and Automator to use it. Once you see how simple it is in Automator you can do a ‘Save As Plugin’ and save it for Finder. Then you can try it out for yourself. Select a few files, right click on one of them, then go down to Automator and select the action! You can see it in action in the above video. Very easy!
