I’ve been working with iPhoto ever since I got my computer. I’ve got tens of thousands of images in my photo library. I absolutely love iPhoto but now that I’ve stepped up in camera quality (I’ve got the Canon Digital Rebel XT) I think it’s time to step up in application. The logical path for me is to move from iPhoto to Aperture. When I first opened up Aperture I was quite intimidated by all the options and buttons. I felt overwhelmed.
Fortunately for me and other people moving from iPhoto to Aperture, Apple is offering a FREE web seminar. It’s a 30 minute video that goes through some of the basics of Aperture. They show you what the buttons, panels and other menus do and even show you how to migrate your iPhoto library to your Aperture library.
Over the course of the next couple weeks, I think I’ll be moving myself to Aperture. I also purchased Apple Pro Training Series: Getting Started with Aperture book and it looks like it’s loaded with good information about Aperture and how it all works.
You can get a free trial version of Aperture from Apple’s website.
