Got Perpendicular?

Hard-drives that store data on the platter in an upright fashion are all the rage. In fact, as I read in this blog post, the recently updated MacBook Pro models use perpendicular storage technologies. The concept of “perpendicular storage” can be a bit confusing to explain, so I’ll leave it to this fun animation from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies!
