Hello Friends,
Grace and I had an awesome vacation in Portugal. We toured the country, starting out in Lisbon in a cute little AirBnB that our friends Kevin and Caroline Anderson let us use located in the Alfama district. We checked out castles and narrow cobblestone streets before we got our rental car and headed south to Lagos. There the beaches were incredible and filled with surfers even though the weather was still cool. Then we drove up to the mountains in the north, then over to Porto and finally last stop in Sintra. Google Maps and Google Translate were the stars for tech. Maps was able to get us where we needed to go despite narrow one lanes cobblestone streets that looked like dead ends and Translate helped with street signs, menus and newspapers!
Many people spoke English, but one day we did find ourselves in a restaurant where only Portuguese was spoken and, of course, the menu was also printed in Portuguese. I pulled out my iPhone and aimed the camera at the menu and, just like magic, Google Translate translated the entire menu in one picture! Very helpful.
Many hours of flying later we are back in Key West and now starting to think about our journey back to Vermont in a few weeks.
We have started to do iPhone repair in our South Burlington store and already repair iPhones down here in Key West, so if you need help with anything, we are "always by your side!"
