Digital Yum-yums

Greetings, hungry readers!

I’ve been feeling pretty ambitious with my cooking lately and I’ve been mixing different things like my tomato sauce with an over-easy egg and cheese. But when one is dry for inspiration on how to tempt the taste buds, where can one go?

I like to do a little searching on Apple’s downloads section of their site every now and then, and I stumbled upon YummySoup! It’s an application that comes pre-loaded with numerous recipes ranging from dessert, drinks, appetizers, and of course, soup! Some recipes are the Kamikaze, black bean stuffed peppers, ‘cheesecakelets,’ or cajun chicken stew.

One great thing about the application is that you can add and remove your own recipes or any of the preloaded ones. You input a title for your concoction, origin, prep time, ingredients and you can add your own textual ‘frill’ as well. I really like how you can publish things to the web, so you can share your recipe with others, print or email them, there are so many possibilities!

One can even keep a shopping list and keep track of liquors. YummySoup! can be found on Apple’s downloads page here. Unfortunately, it’s only a demo version of the program, but you can at least give it a try for 15 days!

Happy cooking, and thanks for reading.
