The Dictionary Widget in 10.5 Leopard

The other day I was looking up the definition of ducat (which means “coin,” or “informal currency”) and found a new feature of the Dictionary Widget of OS X 10.5 Leopard’s Dashboard.

There is now an additional feature within this widget utility other than the Dictionary and the Thesaurus. If you click on the pop up menu on the Widget, you can now also select Apple.

Doing so will grant you access to a glossary of Apple oriented terms and products. For example, if you type a “D” and select return, you are shown the definition of Dashboard.

While access to this info likely won’t save your life, it’s a fun thing to check out for few minutes.
