Apple Rolls Out Minor iBooks Update

Apple yesterday updated its popular iBooks app to version 1.2.1. Although this version doesn’t introduce any truly new features, it improves performance drastically. Overall sluggishness—even on current generation iOS devices—was a qualm which turned many away from iBooks and to alternative apps such as Kindle. With version 1.2.1 Apple addresses these issues. Upon launching the app, the bookshelf loads faster, books themselves open quicker, and the app lags less in general. While it does not introduce any revolutionary new features, the update is certainly worth installing—especially if you’re an avid ebook reader.
