2025 Prognostications
It is that time of year again where I polish up the ole crystal ball and spew some predictions for the coming year.
First let’s review how I did last year, 14 out of 30 or 46% – better than last year.
My 2024 predictions
Apple
- Vision Pro will sell out first run – Yeah it sold out
- Major Apple Car developments – Does dropping it count?
- Apple stock hits a low of $150/share and a high of $205/share – Hit the high but missed the low
- Apple acquires one major content source – nope
Sports
- Cubs will be in the playoffs- Nope,just wait for next year
- Boston Celtics will win the NBA title- Oh YEAH!
- Jason Tatum will be the league MVP- Just wait!
- Record attendance for WNBA- Yes
Weather
- Vermont will have record low snowfall-No, Vermont did not have record low snowfall in 2024
- Very active hurricane season with 4 cat 5s- Some horrendous hurricanes but not 4 cat 5s
- Western USA will return to draught conditions- yes
Space
- Definitely confirmed extraterrestrial life – Not yet but…
- An asteroid will make a very close pass of the earth nope
- Man will return to the moon-not yet
- James Webb telescope will find an earth-like planet- Yes
- Large solar flare will severely impact telecommunications-Yes
- Space X Starship will have successful orbital flight – Yes
Politics
- Democrats will take control of the House- No
- Joe Biden will narrowly win the Presidency-no
- Republicans will take control of Senate- Yes
- Former guy is convicted of at least 2 felonies- Yes
- Bernie Sanders will not seek re-election- no
Miscellaneous
- Stock market hits all time high- Yes
- Federal marijuana laws moderated- no
- There will be a major breakthrough in artificial intelligence-Yes
- First domestic humanoid robots will be delivered- No
- China will not invade Taiwan- yes
- Ukraine war will be a stalemate- Yes
- A Palestinian state without Hamas is established- no
2025 Predictions
Apple
- Apple common stock will hit a low of $185/share and a high of $300/share
- Apple will introduce at least 2 successful home automation products
- Apple will make a surprising acquisition
- Apple will introduce a smart ring
- New Apple Watches will have glucose monitoring
Sports
- The Boston Celtics will repeat as NBA Champs
- Jason Tatum will be MVP
- Payton Pritchard will be 6th man of the year
- Cubs will make the playoffs
- Seattle Storm will make the playoffs
- NBA will annonce Seattle and Las Vegas as expansion teams
Climate
- Vermont will get at least one snowfall of over 18 inches
- It will be a bad wildfire season in the west
- There will be one major earthquake and tsunami
- 2025 will be the hottest year on record
- It will not be lower than -20° F at Hapy & Denise’s house
Space
- Yes, confirmed alien life (and its not drones)
- Man will return to the moon
- Some space junk will fall and harm someone
- There will be at least two commercial alternatives to Starlink
- Satellite to Cell phone will become mainstream

- Mass Deportations will trigger mass protests
