Apple's 30th birthday to be marked with huge iPod ad?
On March 25th a blogger at Boakes.org wrote that he heard from a trusted source that Apple was going to celebrate its 30th birthday with an iPod which would be viewable from space.
Turns out that boakes fired up Google Earth and he was able to find a viewable iPod somewhere in the wilds of Australia.
The story goes that Steve Jobs won an abandoned mine from the late Australian publishing and gaming tycoon Kerry Packer about two years ago. The mine is the site of the 893,240 square meter iPod.
Two days later and the news has spread like wildfire across the Internet so the question that I must ask did someone ruin a perfectly good birthday surprise? Nuts! I hate when that happens.
