iPod Fakes: Followup

I just wanted to make a followup post to Ed’s previous post. This poor customer had brought in a “iPod” and was wondering why it wasn’t working. Well, it was a complete fake! It was probably made quite cheaply in sold on eBay for the price of a real Apple iPod Nano.

So here’s a couple things to keep in mind when you’re purchasing a new iPod.

You should purchase from an Apple store or an Apple Authorized Reseller, like Small Dog Electronics.

If you purchase from eBay make sure you look at the seller’s feedback. The more positive feedback the better, be wary of eBay users with no feedback at all. Look for someone with lots of positive feedback. Just because they’re selling the iPod for a better price then a local Apple store doesn’t mean it’s going to be a great deal in the end.

If anyone else has some buying, buyer beware tips, please leave a comment!
